- Road Agent Announcement
The Town is happy to announce that the Selectmen have hired a new Road Agent, Erich Weeks.
The Board conducted a long task of reviewing applications and interviewing candidates for the job. The Board then extensively competed three finalists for the position.
Erich has worked on the Hartland, VT, highway department previously. He was responsible for road grading, training, and safety. He will bring fresh energy to the department and the Board looks forward to working with him to improve the roads in Cornish.
- Thanks and Congratulations
The Town wishes to thank outgoing Chief Mike Boutilier for his many years of service to the Town of Cornish. Mike ran a great department that is the envy of many local volunteer departments. His countless hours of volunteer service, duty, and responsibility cannot be accurately reflected in this short statement. Chief Boutilier resigned effective March 31. The Board of Selectmen wish him a happy retirement and thank him for his dedication and service.
Congratulations to Chief Bill Harthan, who was sworn in as Cornish Fire Chief on April 2. Chief Harthan was recommended highly by former Chiefs Mike Boutilier and Bob Rice. Chief Harthan has served on the Cornish Volunteer Fire Department since 1989 and has been a firefighter since 1979. His experience and knowledge is unrivaled. We look forward to working with Chief Harthan as he continues to improve the Department.
- Household Hazardous Waste Collection Days.
- BURN PERMITS ARE NOW REQUIRED FOR ALL BURNS.
Due to the loss of snow coverage in most of town, Fire Permits are now required for all outdoor burns. Fire Permits may be obtained from any of the wardens.
